Re: Different error value for QUAD/BEND in static magnetic field map

Dear Shliu,

Yes, in this case, the ERRROR_QUAD command will indeed be common to both the quadrupole and dipole.
However, you can specify as many ERRROR_QUAD commands as you want in your file (*.dat), with each command redefining the errors for the following elements.

Dear Shweta,

Yes, in case of coupled quad errors, is it done in the same way.

Re: How to define dispersion in the input of tracewin

Dear Hanxj, It is difficult for me to assist you as I am not familiar with the Transport code. That said, looking at your file, I don'y believe it is necessary to define dispersion in the input beam, as this would be generated by the dipoles. However, this is merely my impression. Perhaps you could ...

Re: DTL tank tilt error

Dear Shweta,

I agree, but it's really second class effet, for small displacement corresponding to the usual errors.

Re: DTL tank tilt error

Dear Shweta, No, I confirm that the opposite error must be applied to the output of the element for it to be equivalent to the direct approach. In fact, that is how it is done in reality. No error is actually applied to the elements, but rather to the input and output of the beam. Imagine a tilt on ...

Re: DTL tank tilt error

Drar Shweta Roy,

Either you put a tilt on the tank with ERROR_QUAD_XXX command, or you use the BEAM_ROT command in front of your tank and the same reversed at the exit of your tank. This will be more equivalent than just applying a tilt to the input beam.

Re: How to define dispersion in the input of tracewin

Dear Hanxj,

I don't know exactly what you want to do, but yes you can modify these terms in the THIN_MATRIX element.
You can also apply them directly to the input beam via the "TWiss parameters" -> "Beam" button.

Re: Switching Magnet simulation

Dear Mahendra Kumar Panda,

No, that doesn't seem possible to me, unless you run the code three times using 3 different configurations

Re: Steerer with static quad error

Dear Shweta Roy, Without your project files (*.cal, *.dat, *.ini"), it is impossible for me to understand exactly what you are doing. That said, if you selected " Matrch using diagnostics " considering your example, a new set of steerer values will be calculated and will replace the one originally d...
