I forgot a simpler solution before your septum: use the command CHFRAME and then you can use whatever you want behind it.

Dear Bruce, Here it's going to be more complicated, you'll have to use a field map for your septum and make a reference change using the command "SUPERPOSE_MAP_OUT" & "SUPERPOSE_MAP", I suggest you look at the example "Field_map_dipole". So use "MULTIPOLE" for your pulse magnet, then your 2 quads an...

I added feature allowing to use VARIABLE as arguments in batch mode.
Concerning problem about ele[n][m]=xxx in FIELD_MAP element, that works on my side, could you be more specific ?

Clearly, what is indicated in the manual has misled you. I'll have to review what is recommended, because it doesn't seem right when a READ_OUT is used.
You should use the following line:
"CHANGE_BEAM 2 0 0 0 -75500 0 0 39075.282 39075.782"
