Re: How to use field_map
Dear Chen, The details of the field map file format are given in the section "Magnetic or electric Field map." For example, for the 3D field map, the format is " nz zmax nx xmin xmax ny ymin ymax Norm for k=0 to nz for j=0 to ny for i=0 to nx Fz(k×zmax/nz, ymin+j×(ymax-ymin)/ny, xmin+i×(xmax-xmin)/n...

Re: Dipole element
Dear Didier,
My apologies, Since TraceWin uses matrices to represent different elements and combined function magnet can bealso represented by a matrix. I just
asked about the possibility. There was no intention to repeat my query.
Thank you
With Regards
Abhishek Pathak

Re: Dipole element
Dear Didier, Is there a way to introduce a combined function magnet in TraceWin? I tried superposing the dipole and quadrupole magnetic fields, but the results are different and therefore was wondering if it is possible to use a combined function magnet instead. Thank you With Regards Abhishek Pathak

Re: Dipole element
Dear Didier, Thank you very much for the clarification. I have some more questions if it's alright with you; they are as follows, 1. Can I use the Multipole command to generate the quadrupole and dipole field map and use it with the field map command? 2. Does the field map generated using the multip...

Re: Dipole element
Dear Didier, I am also trying to simulate a ring and therefore using the configuration that you have suggested here. The problem is that as the beam changes its trajectory because of the dipole field, the reference coordinates are not changing. Therefore, as the beam reaches the aperture size, it su...
Re: Key Error
Dear Didier, I think is not systematic; sometimes, it appears consecutively sometimes it does not. My batch command is, TraceWin config.ini path_cal=',num2str(k),'\',num2str(i),'\ Ele[',num2str(en(k)),'][2]=',num2str(F(I)) where I run a for loop over I and k and assign respective calculation directo...
Re: Key Error
Dear Didier,
I am using TraceWin 2.18.6.0, and I am still getting this message (as attached). May you please look into it? This occur when I run TraceWin in Batch mode for a very large number of runs.
Thank you

Transfer matrix for skew quadrupole
Dear Didier and other users
If possible, May you please explain the way in which the skew quadrupole matrix is considered in TraceWin? I talking about a scenario where we use a rotation angle of 45 deg with quad element command in TraceWin.
Thank you

Re: Intrabeam stripping
Dear Didier,
Thank you very much for considering my request. Yes, the estimate in the referenced paper will be very useful.

Intrabeam stripping
Dear Didier,
Is it possible to simulate intrabeam stripping using TraceWin? If not, will it be difficult to include this feature, because some of the beam losses in a linac can be because of this effect, and it will be really useful.
Thank you
