Re: Longitudinal distribution change in first step [SOLVED]
Hi, indeed, Toutatis includes the transverse divergence in the calculation of the energy such that this energy corresponds to the "total" energy and is not only longitudinal related. Also this way of doing is like this since the creation of the code, so I am surprised you observed a different behavi...

Re: Some undocumented parameters? [SOLVED]
Hi Hendrik, there are indeed a few experimental commands with Toutatis that are not documented due to their experimental nature. I do not know so much how some of them came into the ESS RFQ input file. Anyhow, here are some explanations: theSpecialLostFlag 0 => a square with side size equal to 2 tim...

Re: Emittance blow up in RFQ_1 example
Hi
the R0 given is the value at the end of the RMS meaning where it connects to the channel. From z= 0 to z= RMS_length, the R0 evolves getting this increasing force. The profile follows the Crandall formulation used in Parmetq.
Best,
Romuald

Re: Emittance blow up in RFQ_1 example
Dear Bruce, the TC in Tracewin is the pole tip radius in mm. I am not familiar with RFQ Gen code and can not help you about the possible similarity. Regarding the radial matching section, after called RMS, there is something specific here. Toutais does not consider the RMS to be made of several cell...

Re: Emittance blow up in RFQ_1 example [SOLVED]
Hi
I have to say that I am confused by your post as RFQ Designer does not calculate any emittance growth and I am not aware of any RFQ_1 example. Could you please reformulate your request?
Best,
Romuald

Re: Input beam distribution DST file [SOLVED]
Hi,
if you install PlotWin (freeware available from our site) you will have access to its documentation that details the dst format. PlotWin is by the way a useful tool for plotting dst files.
I hope it helps,
Romuald
