Link variables in ADJUST [SOLVED]

Dear Didier,

I would like to make a request. Could you add proportionality to the ADJUST command? For example:

adjust 1 1 1
drift 100 10
adjust 1 1 n
drift 100 10

The link could be n=1 or n=-1. Could you make be any number? e.g. n=0.5

Thanks and best regards,

Re: set_sync_phase [SOLVED]

Dear Didier, Please see attachment. The attached project demonstrated the problem. This project is almost identical to the example project that I used for another post (Phase Offset). The only difference is that the strength of the field map is 10x stronger here. My experience is that the problem oc...

Phase offset between field maps [SOLVED]

Dear Didier,

Please see attached project. It is ready to run. If we view the two field maps as two cavities controlled by the same clock, what is the phase offset between them? Where can I find it?

set_sync_phase [SOLVED]

Dear Didier, When using SET_SYNC_PHASE for a field map, I often run into an error: SET_SYNC_PHASE command failed Synchronous phase out of reach Cavity field probably too high Sometimes I can avoid the error by changing the sync phase by 1 or 2 degrees. The field map is designed for drift tube length...

Re: DIAG_DCURRENT [SOLVED]

Dear Didier,

Thank you.
It was a careless mistake I had. I started the project new and the "Maximum number of iterations" was defaulted to "0". I overlooked it.

DIAG_DCURRENT [SOLVED]

Dear Didier,

What is the usage of DIAG_DCURRENT? It does not work as I expected. Please see attached project. I expected the optimization will increase the solenoid strength until transmission is 100%. Thank you.

Absolute phase in a field map

Colleagues,

How can I obtain the "abs phase" at a certain location within a field map? I have tried a "marker" and short "drift" together with "shift_in_field_map" but it did not work. Any idea? Thanks!

Re: LATTICE and CALCULATE INPUT MATCHED BEAM [SOLVED]

Dear Didier, It is great! Thanks! Two follow up questions: (1) Does a "DIAG" statement count as an element? It seems it does but it does not affect the lattice periodicity. (2) See attached. I keep commenting out the "DIAG_DSIZE2" statement one by one but the matching still works fine. I don't think...

Re: LATTICE and CALCULATE INPUT MATCHED BEAM [SOLVED]

Dear Didier,

Could you please show me how to use "DIAG_DSIZE2" on Q1 and Q2 in the example project (attached) to match the input beam calculated by "LATTICE" at the beginning of the lattice itself?

Re: LATTICE and CALCULATE INPUT MATCHED BEAM [SOLVED]

Dear Didier,

Is it possible to start with a known input beam and use "adjust" on a few quadrupoles to match the beam at the beginning of a "lattice"?
