Re: Batch mode and PlotWin
Dear Didier, Currently, I copy two files, tracewin.out and partran1.out, after each run during batch mode. With these two files, I can plot the envelopes using Matlab. There is also a much larger file containing the dynamics of each of the particles, which you can plot the phase space etc in the GUI...

Batch mode and PlotWin
Dear Didier,
Is there a way to view plots in PlotWin or the TraceWin GUI after running a simulation in batch mode?
Best regards,
Wai-Ming

CW beam and phase
Dear Didier, Is it possible to perform matching in envelope mode to optimize RF phase when simulating a CW input beam? The answer "no" seems to be obvious but when I run a CW beam through an RF gap or w_p_limit, TraceWin seems to be able to identify the synchronous particle as the "zero phase" parti...

Re: Problem with variable
Dear Didier, Thanks a lot. In general, when you upgrade TraceWin.exe, is TraceWin_noGUI.exe also being upgraded? I use a script to run batch using TraceWin_noGUI.exe through cmd, and then copy two files: tracewin.out and partran1.out. Sometimes that two files are not available for some parameter val...

Re: Problem with variable
Dear Didier, That fixes the problem. But it created another problem. I don't know exactly what it is. A model that I can run without problem with the last version now cannot run with the new version. The complain is related to variable: drift 30-(xa11-40) 10 I guess it is related to the "11" in the ...

Problem with variable
Dear Didier,
I believe there is a bug in the variable command. Please see attached model for an example. In the model, when both "xa1" and "xa10" are declared, "xa10" will have a wrong value. If you comment out "xa1", then "xa10" will be correct.
Best regards,
Wai-Ming

Re: DIAG_DSIZE
Dear Didier, My understanding to my first example is that: drift 10 10 diag_dsize3 11 5 drift 10 10 diag_size 11 0 0 20 diag_dsize3 11 5 I am demanding a phase spread dP(z=20)=20 at z=20. At the same time I am demanding the difference in phase spread to be dP(z=20) - dP(z=10) = 5. So equivalently, I...

Re: DIAG_DSIZE
Dear Didier,
If I understand the user manual correctly, my second example is also for phase spread. Please see attached snapshot.
Best regards,
Wai-Ming

DIAG_DSIZE
Dear Didier,
Is the example below the correct way of using diag_dsize?
drift 10 10
diag_dsize3 11 5
drift 10 10
diag_size 11 0 0 20
diag_dsize3 11 5
Is the above the same as this example below?
drift 10 10
diag_size 11 0 0 15
drift 10 10
diag_size 11 0 0 20
Thanks and best regards,
Wai-Ming

DIAG_DCURRENT
Dear Didier, Could you please provide an example of how to use DIAG_DCURRENT? I would like to optimize a section such that there is no current/beam loss. According to my understanding to the description of DIAG_DCURRENT, I came up with the below, but didn't work: DIAG_DCURRENT 22 0 xxx ADJUST 22 1 x...
