Total RF power in RFQ

Please suggest where to see total RF power of RFQ, Cavity power plot is not the same as total power in TRACEWIN ? Total power= Peak power + Beam Power. It should be of the order of 300-400 kW for 3 MeV, 3m design Proton RFQ. But I am not able to find it anywhere in TRACEWIN and Toutatis.

When RFQ Designer is running, you can see in the console intermediate results of the on going optimisation. Part of these outputs are:

Results
---------
Peak cavity power [kW] = 331
Kilpatrick max = 1.69
Total RF power [kW] = 526
Achieved energy [MeV] = 2.833

That should be what you expected, shouldn't it?

yes, but can we get in final log of optimized file? Or Can you provide any formula by which we can calculate this power using voltage and cell length column etc. for the optimized case, same formula by which RFQdesign is calculating inside the code.

You have submitted a request in RFQ Designer forum about where to find data about the total RF power. As mentioned previously, RFQ Designer provides such information in console outputs. The way it is calculated is explained in RFQ Designer documentation. You can copy and paste all outputs in console. I will think about repeating at the end of the optimisation of the results obtained for the best case. For the time being, one way to get this is to promote the best guesses and save the settings. Then rerun the case, the first attempt should be your best case with its power.

For demands about TraceWin or Toutatis, please express them in the dedicated forum.

To save you some time, Toutatis does not compute such value.

Best,

Romuald
