SET_SYNC_PHASE and SUPERPOSE_MAP

Dear Didier,
Please take a look at the attached model. The set_sync_phase command does not work with the superpose_map command in my model. Note that when setting "superpose_map 300",the two field_map practically do not superpose and yet, set_sync_phase doesn't not work. Eventually, I would like to superpose two field maps and set their synchronous phase independently.
Best regards,
Wai-Ming

Dear Wai-Ming,
Here you reach a limit of the code. It's not possible to use 2 SET_SYNC_PHASE commands in a set of supperposed field map. Simply because the synchronous phase definition making that impossible and becasue superposed field map are see like one alone field map by integrator.
Thus you have to found out rigth input phase using SET_SYNC_PHASE for each field map independatly and then set the input phase and remove set_sync_phase command. Otherwise of you want tune globaly the both field map with 90° just use set_sync_phase only on the first field map

Didier

Dear Didier,
Thank you.
How about two or more frequencies in a set of superposed field maps?
Best regards,

Dear Wai-Ming,
Each field map of a set of superposed field maps can have independant RF phase and Frequency. No problem for that.
It is the synchronous phase which is more problematic because it is not a physical data but the result of a calculation (see its definition in the manual) or this discussion in particular:

Dear Didier,
I have also run into problem when doing this:
superpose_map xx
set_sync_phase xx
field_map xx xx
adjust xx
superpose_map xx
field_map xx xx
The ADJUST command will change the resulting value of the set_sync_phase command. Is it also a limitation?
How about having two ADJUST commands for a superpose_map?
Thanks,
Wai-Ming

Dear Wai-Ming,
Yes unfortunately it's the same problem in this example.
You can perfectly have several ADJUST in superposed field map, but without SET_SYNCH_PHASE command.
Perhaps, you could tell me what you want to do exactly, I'll have a look how to do that.

Didier

Dear Didier,
What I wanted to do is exactly what I have described in my first post. I have two edz filed profiles. They overlap each other. And I want to set their synchronous phase individually. You have mentioned that I can determine the input phase for each of them separately before superposing them. But when I have quite a number of particle velocities that I wanted to test, this method becomes very inefficient.
Thanks and best regards,
Wai-Ming

Dear Wai-Ming,
In your frist example, you send me, boht field map were not overlaped each other making easy what you want to do. Just remove superposed command and that all.
Now if they averlap each over, considering the synchonous phase definition, I suggest you to put SET_SYNC_PHASE command to the first one only. You get the requiered input phase. Then apply the same way for the second rebuncher. But doing that, you'll probably change a little bit the synchronous phase of the first one. Repeat the 2 steps and in 2 or 3 times, the synchronous phases will be stabilised.

Didier
