Change of reference system

We would like to impact the beam on a surface that is rotated by 9° with respect to the main accelerator axis. To obtain the beam distribution in the reference system of the target — which is rotated 9° from the accelerator axis — can we use the beam_rot command as follows?

beam_rot 0 9

It’s not entirely clear whether this command rotates the beam while keeping the original reference system, or if it provides the beam distribution in a new reference system rotated by 9°.

I would really appreciate any clarification you can provide.

Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Conchi

Daer Chonchi,

I admit that it's not very clear to me what a surface rotated by 9° is. But in any case, if you look at the phase-space (Z-X) before and after the command, you can see the 9° rotation.
Is this what you wanted to do?

Didier
