field map shift & rotation

Dear Didier,

Hello,
I would like to use 3D solenoid field map and add x, y shifts and θ_x ,θ_y rotations to the map.
I think I should use "SUPERPOSE_MAP Z0 X0 Y0 θ Z0 θ X0 θ Y0", but nothing happened when I add x, y shift and rotation with SUPERPOSE_MAP.
I have to use SUPERPOSE_MAP_OUT ? However, I do not want to change beam trajectry intendedly.
Is there good way to shift and rotate field map ?

best regards,
Ashikaga

Ashikaga,

Yes, the SUPERPOSE_OUT command will work, but I suggest you prefer a command like SHIFT or BEAM_ROT.
The BEAM_ROT command implies a displacement and a reverse rotation at the output of the solenoid.
Now unless I'm mistaken, is a transverse rotation supposed to have an effect on a solenoid?

Regards,

Didier

Dear Didier,

Thank you for giving me nice information.
I mean a kind of misalignmant of the solenoid, not rotation caused by the magnetic field.
I would like to rotate the field map around x-axis because there is known misalignment(tilt) in reality.
BEAM_ROT is a good way to modify the magnetic field which affect the beam?

best regards,
Ashikaga

Yes I'll use BEAM_ROT command for this kind of simulation

Dear Didier,

Thank you. I'll try to use BEAM_ROT.
