We have recently designed an RFQ accelerator using RFQ Designer and performed beam dynamics simulations with Toutatis. From this workflow, we obtained the corresponding toutatis.vane file.
Our current goal is to reconstruct the RFQ three-dimensional geometry (for example, as a CAD .step model) based on the results from Toutatis. According to the user manual, the .vane file contains the geometrical information of the RFQ electrodes. However, we could not find detailed explanations in the documentation regarding how to interpret or read the contents of this file.
In particular, we would like to understand:
The structure and format of the .vane file
The physical meaning of each column or data block
How the vane tip profiles (e.g., (R_0), modulation, curvature) are represented along the longitudinal direction
Any guidance, references, or examples you could provide would be greatly appreciated. This would help us correctly reconstruct the RFQ geometry for further electromagnetic simulations.
