segfault

Post by Norwayyngvelevinsen »

Hi Didier,

Today I upgraded Toutatis for the first time in a while, since I saw you had some updates in the TraceWin version. I downloaded the archive (tar.gz) and noticed that it is packed in the full path /mnt/hgfs/DisqueC/Cpp/CodeBlocks/Toutatis2/linux/Toutatis but this is not a big issue per se.

The bigger issue is that I get segfault when I try to run the new version:

Code: Select all

% /usr/share/toutatis/bin/Toutatis -i ESS_RFQ_V2.INP

Input file is 'ESS_RFQ_V2.INP'

zsh: segmentation fault (core dumped) /usr/share/toutatis/bin/Toutatis -i ESS_RFQ_V2.INP
I do not see anything particular about missing libraries either:

Code: Select all

% ldd /usr/share/toutatis/bin/Toutatis
        linux-gate.so.1 (0xf7ecb000)
        libX11.so.6 => /usr/lib32/libX11.so.6 (0xf7d29000)
        libdl.so.2 => /usr/lib32/libdl.so.2 (0xf7d24000)
        libm.so.6 => /usr/lib32/libm.so.6 (0xf7c53000)
        libpthread.so.0 => /usr/lib32/libpthread.so.0 (0xf7c4e000)
        libc.so.6 => /usr/lib32/libc.so.6 (0xf7a1e000)
        libxcb.so.1 => /usr/lib32/libxcb.so.1 (0xf79f2000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /usr/lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xf7ecd000)
        libXau.so.6 => /usr/lib32/libXau.so.6 (0xf79ed000)
        libXdmcp.so.6 => /usr/lib32/libXdmcp.so.6 (0xf79e5000)
Now I could imagine this could still be an issue with some package on my computer, but the older Toutatis (which I think I downloaded sometime 2020) works fine. Both are 32bit and I think they are linked to same libraries.

I can add that this also happens if I open for example the example.inp that comes with Toutatis. I see the splash screen and then it crashes. Running the console version seems to work fine.

Hi

Would it be possible to attach ESS_RFQ_V2.INP so that I can try to reproduce the bug with my platform?

Best,

Romuald

Hmm, when I try to attach I get an invalid file extension.. You should be able to find the files from here: https://gitlab.esss.lu.se/ess-bp/ess-la ... am_Physics

But as said, I get the same also with the example project that comes with Toutatis.

We are investigating. It seems to be related to the linux version with the GUI. The time for us to solve the problem, you can run in console mode by adding -nox.

Thanks for helping out, and nice to hear from you again Romuald!

Yes, will use the console version for now.
