The information displayed during the information process is not stored for all DIAGNOSTICS cases. For some of them, such as DIAG_SIZE, a chart is available afterwards, but not all diagnostics are generated.
It would be nice if the last values of each diagnostic were stored in the file “last_best_optimisation” or in “Adjusted_Values”.
Diagnostic information
Re: Diagnostic information
Dear Pedro,
Normally, at the end of the matching processes, the two files contain the corresponding results, so I don't really understand your request.
Regards,
Didier

Re: Diagnostic information
Dear Didier
The files I mention contain information regarding the parameters to be adjusted, for example the gradient of a quadrupole. But no information is stored about the beam parameter to be optimized, for example the maximum beam size at a given point, which is specified with the DIAG_SIZE_MAX command. I would like to know what is the size reached when the optimization stops. This information is displayed in the “Output”-tab for the duration of the process, but then it is not stored. It would be nice to save how the settings and diagnostics have been varying during the optimization.
I am also not clear about the internal optimization algorithm, because in many cases when optimizing the dynamics, the requested requirements are not reached, but the optimization stops. In addition, the variation of the parameters to be adjusted is too fine in my opinion. It makes no sense to vary in different steps of the optimization the distance of a drift or a quadrupole by a distance of 0.001 when this is not physically achievable. The settings should be limited during optimization, to only consider step between settings.
Thanks
Pedro

Re: Diagnostic information
Dear Pedro,
Into the file "ENV_diag1.dat" (envelope results) or "PAR_diag1.dat" (tracking resuluts), you can find all beam parameters needed reached at each position of diagnostics elements.
If you want to change step of ADJUST command, have a look on the manuel about this command, some parameters allows to do that.
Regards,
Didier
