Re: Questions About Using Field Map to Construct Combined Fields
Dear H. Lin, I still have the same error, despite your changes. I've updated TraceWIn to correct the colours of the elements that weren't working very well in your case (blue:quad, red:dipole). I've also changed the way I draw element sizes in this latest version and try Bend size =0.8 and Quad size...

Lin, I'm not able to check yur project, because I have the error "'Impossible for the reference particle to leave the field map, Probably wrong parameters in the command SUPERPOSE_MAP_OUT" 1 - The starting point can be changed using the first command SUPERPOSE_MAP command. 2 - Red is for dip...

Re: Different values of phase advance
Dear Emily, Ok, I think I understand now. On my side, using my method, both give the same results, because in both cases I use phase advance values from the partan.out file. You're mixing phase advance values with beta functions, so I think you're confusing the beta function with the phase advance. ...

Re: Different values of phase advance
Dear Emily, Figures 1 and 2 should normally give the same plot, and that's the case with me. In any case, I understand your problem, i.e. the discrepancies between envelope phase advance and tracking. If I do the same as you, but using TraceWin (see my image for the method), I get a smaller discrepa...

Re: Problem in RFQ error study
Dear Shuo, You are probably using an old version of the examples supplied by TraceWin, because the file name "rfq.dat" is now reserved internally for the Toutatis module. You must either upgrade your code and therefore the examples supplied or rename your file describing the structure avoiding "rfq....

Re: double free or corruption
Dear Lennert,
I've fixed the bug that caused the noX11 version to crash, but the GUI version is normally affected too, although it seems more stable.
Regards,
Didier

Re: bending element's field_map
Dear Jiangrui,
If you want the central trajectory to follow the direction s, you must use the SUPERPOSE_MAP_OUT command, see the help associated with this command and also the example name field_map.dipole.ini

Didier
