Re: SET_SYNC_PHASE and SUPERPOSE_MAP
Dear Wai-Ming, Here you reach a limit of the code. It's not possible to use 2 SET_SYNC_PHASE commands in a set of supperposed field map. Simply because the synchronous phase definition making that impossible and becasue superposed field map are see like one alone field map by integrator. Thus you ha...

Re: Length of FIELD_MAP
Dear Wai-Ming, Length defined in file is the real and phisical length of the field map. Length set in FIELD_MAP is the length used for simulation. Some example bellow for a 480 mm length quadrupole: - Picture #1: FIELD_MAP 70 480 0 40 100.0 0 0 0 qpole480 - Picture #2: FIELD_MAP 70 300 0 40 100.0 0 ...

Re: Compensation failures proceed
Dear Bruce, Matching results with errors are not saved in the usual "*.cal" file. Simply because each run could provide different results according to random errors. yes, it's not your case becasue ypur phase error is constant. Anyway, you can always find your final tuning in the file "Adjusted_Valu...

Re: how to import a file with particles
Hi Francesco,
To do that, you have to use the free code "PlotWin" allowing to import particle from an ASCII file (see PlotWin manual for format detail)
Then, using particle ditribution chart of plotwin, use "Save" button and select "dst" as output file type.
Regards,
Didier

Re: Field Map and phase
Dear Wai-Ming, As I already say, the synchronous phase is clearly defined in manual (see picture bellow) In equation (A2), phi0 is input phase and syncronous phase is given by equation (A5). This is the model used in TraceWin, other software, other models and currently we are working on another mode...

Re: Compensation failures proceed
Dear Bruce, No, the number of iteration mandatory depends of the alogrithm convergence. In this case, you can see in the following figure that for exemple at step=110, penalies function is not good (delta phase and energy not close to 0), so, some more iterations are needed. convergence..png When th...

Re: Compensation failures proceed
Dear bruce, A lot of things. I tried to answer some of them, expected that solve the others :D First your steady-state ddin't reach the right energy because, your number of optimization step is two low, increase to 500, the "Maximum number of iteration" in "Matching" page -> "Second step with error"...
