Hi Didier,
it seems that cavity error calculations with aperture maps lead to a TraceWin critical error.
Is it possible to mask FIELD_MAP 0 for cavity errors?
I put an example here:
field_map_path TraceWin\doc\examples
ERROR_CAV_NCPL_STAT 1000 10 1 1 1 1 1 0 1
DRIFT 10 40 0 0 0
DRIFT 10 40 0 0 0
SUPERPOSE_MAP 0
ouverture: FIELD_MAP 0 1280 0 18 0 0 0 1 solenoid1
SUPERPOSE_MAP 0
FIELD_MAP 0010 1280 0 71 155 0 0 0 solenoid1
DRIFT 10 40 0 0 0
DRIFT 10 40 0 0 0
end

Dear Jonathan,
Are you an exmaple to provide me?

Re: Cavity error calculations with aperture map
Hi Didier,
I reopen the topic.
Is it possible to mask FIELD_MAP 0 for cavity errors completely?
I think this is why I observe bigger losses than with hardedge. I basically double the errors, see attached the error_data file when I run error calculations.
I don't think there is any situation in which someone would need to apply errors to an aperture field map.
Cheers,
Jonathan

Re: Cavity error calculations with aperture map
Dear Jonathan,
I'll check that, but as usual I need your project files.

Didier

Re: Cavity error calculations with aperture map
ok it will be easier to reuse the one with the fieldmaps that you provided in the examples of TraceWin.
If you run the project attached, the error_data file shows a transverse shift of 1 mm applied to the aperture map.
Although if you put a shift in X of 200 mm, I see that particles are not lost so maybe this error is not effective ?

Re: Cavity error calculations with aperture map
Dear Jonathan,
Ok It's fixed, but as it has no impact on simulations or even visualisations, it will not be effective until a later update.

Didier
