SUPERPOSE _ MAP Use

Post by Chinacyrus »

Dear Didier,
I want to realize the deflection of particles in the magnetic field and know the trajectory length of particles in the magnetic field.
I am trying to use SUPERPOSE _ MAP to solve this problem. I want the particle to be perpendicular to the z-axis and emit a magnetic field in the negative direction of y, but I have been reporting errors when using SUPERPOSE _ MAP.
I want to know whether the method is feasible, and where my code is set wrong, thank you

SUPERPOSE_MAP_OUT 538.8 0 0 0 -270 0
SUPERPOSE_MAP 0 0 0 0 45 0
FIELD_MAP 00070 700 0 100 1 0 0 0 mag_field 0
END

Dear Cyrus,

I think that any configuration is possible and that you're not configuring the various commands correctly, but frankly, I really don't understand what you really want to do. Why does your input beam enter at a vertical angle of 785.4 mrad? Why is your field map rotated 45° horizontally? What are the field types on your field maps, etc.? I'd need more explanation, especially a schematic of what you want to do.

Regards,

Didier

Dear Didier,
I am simulating the 90 ° deflection of the particles in the alpha magnet. The particles should have been injected from the origin at an angle of 45 ° and then returned to the origin at 45 °. However, I found that the particles did not seem to complete a complete trajectory, which ended at nearly half of the time, so I only put in the upper half of the magnetic field. Is this complete trajectory feasible ? Now I want to get the trajectory length of the particles, so I only simulated half. Because I am unfamiliar with the software, the parameters I set may be wrong, thank you very much for your correction. What I want is that the particles are injected at an angle of 45 ° in the zy plane, and the magnetic field is an electrostatic field.

Best regards,
cyrus

Dear Cyrus,

It's really very complex to do if you don't know anything about code. For example, if I remove the 2 commands, so I keep only the field map alone and remove also the 785 mrad entry angle and simulate the effect of your card on the beam, there's none, which means your cards are probably not configured correctly.
First step, check that the cards are correct and have the right effect on the beam, otherwise it'll just be impossible to move on to next step.

Regards,

Didier
