Superposition of DC/AC field maps

Post by United States of AmericaRbsd »

Hello Didier,
I hope you are doing well. I need your help about the superposition of field maps. I have a system of a mixture of quad and drift tube. The superposition of the fields is at both sides of every electrodes. I had issue to ensure the superposition at both sides by 35 mm at the entrance side and 42 mm at the exit side. below is an example of setting.
field_map_path fieldmap

drift 100 apr
Superpose_map 0
LQ1 : QUAD_ELE 84 Vq1 apr 0 0 0 0 0 0
Superpose_map 42

A1 : FIELD_MAP 700 150 -30 apa 0 Va1*1e-6 0 0 JuniperOWTS_TWin3D1VWfullFM_a1b 1
Superpose_map 115
LQ2 : QUAD_ELE 84 Vq2 apr 0 0 0 0 0 0
Superpose_map 42

A2 : FIELD_MAP 700 180 -30 apa 0 Va2*1e-6 0 0 JuniperOWTS_TWin3D1VWfullFM_a2b 1
Superpose_map 145
LQ3 : QUAD_ELE 84 Vq3 apr 0 0 0 0 0 0
drift 100 apr

END

Hi,

You could only supperpose field maps element, and the syntax of your LQ1 line is wrong!
If you don't have a field map for your magnetics elements, you can use the MULTIPOLE element, which creates a simplified and supperposable field map.

Regards,

Didier
