Dear Didier,
I would like to request the functionality to Match using Diagnostics With Partran ONLY for part of the diagnostics in the beam line. I run into cases where for some diagnostics (e.g. phase space) is meaningless without Partran, while other diagnostics (e.g. beam trajectories) is reasonably good with matching with envelope only. Enabling Matching with Partran makes the simulation prohibitively slow.
Best regards,
Wai-Ming

Re: Match using Diagnostics with Partran
Dear Wai-Ming,
I can only offer you a general solution that cannot be individualized to each matching.
Set the number of iterations to 0 in "Diagnoctic optimization (3)" -> "First step without error" -> "Envelope"
Regards,
Didier

Dear Didier,
I do not understand your suggestion. Can you illustrate it in the attached example? Please show if I can optimize diag_size with envelope only, and optimize diag_energy with Partran.
Best regards,
Wai-Ming

Re: Match using Diagnostics with Partran
Dear Wai-ming,
Sorry if I wasn't very clear, below is the procedure to achieve what you are asking for:
First step, I set all optimization numbers of step to 0 and I start a run You can see, in the result file the envelope and partran matching results but which does not modify the initial values becasue all step are set to 0 Second step, I comment or delete the lines in the result file of what I want to redo. last step, I reset the number of calculation steps to 1000 per Example and start a new run I hope that it is clearer, if not, do not hesitate to come back here.
Regards,
Didier
