Units of B as rad2

Post by Indiasarvesh »

At the GUI of RFQdesign, You mention the unit of B (Focusing factor) is rad2 but when RFQDesign generates the Toutatis file for an optimized case, It gives the very small values (Column 12) which is not between 3 and 5 which you mentioned as practical range of B on GUI of RFQDesign. Can you please mention the exact formula of B used in the code and why this discrepancy?

Hi,

If the column 12 is from the block of data describing the RFQ cell by cell, it does not correspond to B, column 12 is not used. More generally, there is no B reporting in .inp file.

There are 2 ways for visualizing the B values either you look at the plot displayed by RFQDesigner or you run Toutatis with the GUI mode and select plot for A,B and A10.

Best,

Romuald

What is exactly in 12th Column of file generated by RFDesign for Toutatis run? I am able to see data in this column and not able to understand it.

It should be the beta (reduced speed) evolution. Also, Toutatis ignores this column anyway.
