Dear Didier,
is there any way to adjust the diagnostics differently between the first and second beam?
I mean a way to have different settings or avoid the action of the adjust on the second beam?
Best Regards,
Michele Comunian
Use of diagnostics on the second beam
Re: Use of diagnostics on the second beam
Dear Michele,
In real life, this would mean, for example, that a quadrupole would change value depending on the species that crossed it.
I don't really see the point of this, but could you explain why this requierement ?
Now clearly, there's no way of doing that.
Regards,
Didier

Re: Use of diagnostics on the second beam
Dear Didier,
yes, if you fully implement the feature, you get practically a second TraceWin project, not a run of a second beam.
We are designing a mebt coming from an RFQ, so we use the first beam with the rfq output without the not accelerated particles,
and the second beam with the not accelerated particles. So the mebt is set by the primary beam and we get the information on losses from the second beam.
The point is that sometimes we want to change where the not accelerated particles are lost by adjusting the second beam.
As a suborder request may we set the B value of the dipoles field, independently from the Brho ?

Dear Michele,
Below is a proposal for modifying the B field independently of the Brho

BEND 25 500 0 150 0
