the definition of “number of bunching cells” in RFQ Designer

Post by Chinakevin »

I have a question regarding the definition of the “number of bunching cells” parameter in RFQ Designer.

As far as I understand, an RFQ is generally designed using the classical four-section approach, namely:

Radial Matching Section (RMS),
Shaper (SH),
Gentle Buncher (GB),
Accelerator (ACC).

In RFQ Designer, there is a parameter called “number of bunching cells”. I would like to clarify which section this refers to. Specifically, does it correspond to:

only the Gentle Buncher (GB) section, or
both the Shaper (SH) and Gentle Buncher (GB) sections combined?

I would greatly appreciate it if you could clarify this point.
