Hi Didier,
Would it be possible to add a flag to the commandline tool of TW that indicates for a partran simulation whether the emittance values should be taken from the distribution file instead of the ones in the ini-file.
At the moment, if you provide a distribution file for which the emittance values do not match the ones in the ini-file, the distribution is corrected to match those emittance values. I can imagine there are use-cases for this, but in my case I just want to track my raw distribution through the accelerator and I don't want any corrections interfering. I know as a user you can provide emittance values yourself through the commandline arguments, but in my opinion it doesn't make sense that the user should pre-calculate this from the distribution, just to cancel the correction.
Hence, I think a flag indicating whether a correction should or shouldn't be done is the best way forward.
What do you think?
Cheers,
Lennert

Re: missing distribution flag command-line tool
Dear Lennert,
Unless I'm mistaken, if you provide the name of a distribution file as input (via the batch command), it is that file's settings that will be used, not those defined in the ini file
Regards,
Didier

Re: missing distribution flag command-line tool
I forgot to mention that this will only work if you have selected the correct option "Use distribution from input particle file" in "Input distribution type"
