Dear Didier,

I noticed column 41 in partran1.out file is not the value described in the instruction.

Column 39: Norm. RMS emit_z_dp/p
Column 40: RMS z
Column 41: szdp? What is it?
Column 42/43: H/V disperison

And could you please add a column named RMS z' or RMS dp/p? Such that beam twiss parameters could be calculated.

Dear shliu,

I've updated the TraceWin manual for the partran.out file because 2 columns were missing and the description of the other columns wasn't very clear.
Finally, I explain how to recover missing values such as RMS z' or RMS dp/p?

What does it mean by "<z.dp/p>(mm.%)"? It seems not σ_φ*σ_dp/p.

Sorry for the typo. I mean it isn't σ_z*σ_dp/p.

This is the average of (z x dp/p) , It's σz.dp/p.

If my understanding is correct, they are different in .dst and partran1.out.

At the output, σ_z= 6.0138 mm, σ_dp/p=0.0542 %. Then <z.dp/p>(mm.%)=6.0138 * 0.0542=0.3259.

But it is 0.2582859 In column 41.

Then how to get σ_dp/p, or σ_z', or σ_E?

I mean there's only e_z and σ_z in partran1.out, and beam twiss parameter γ could not be identified.

Dear shliu,

In the new manual (you have to upgrade you code) you have the way explaining to get σ_dp/p from parameter of partran.out file.
Chapter : "Partran and Toutatis output"
When you get it, you get the 4 term of the matrix Z.dp/p so, all Twiss parameter can be deducee aisily (see manual for formula)
In addition, in the manual you will also find all the formulas for going from dp/p to z' or W or from Z->P.
See chapter : "Conversions between [z-z’], [z-δ] and [Δφ-ΔW] phase planes"
